What Optrak models, how it optimises, and how the same engine answers strategic questions.
- The Optrak Data Model Optrak's data model holds three kinds of thing about your operation — your sites, your orders and the goods themselves, your vehicles and drivers and equipment — and works out three more from them: what will physically fit on a vehicle, how long roads take at different times of day, and how much fuel or charge a vehicle uses. All six are in front of the optimiser while it works out the routes, rather than being checked afterwards.
- The Optimisation Engine The optimisation engine is the part of Optrak that decides which vehicle does which drops, in what order. It has around thirty different methods for working that out, picks the ones that suit the work your operation actually runs, and checks as it goes that the plan will hold up in the yard and on the road.
- Strategic Modelling Strategic modelling in Optrak tests alternative fleet, depot, contract and schedule configurations before you commit capital to them, running each through the same optimiser that plans live operations and comparing cost to serve, carbon and feasibility. Run it as a modelling exercise or in a self-serve workbench, with an experimental AI agent window that drives the steps in plain language.
