Industries
Optrak delivers dedicated support for multiple specialised sectors by leveraging industry-specific features and integrated loaders. To guarantee viable solutions, key constraints — such as product compatibility, equipment requirements, site limitations, and necessary cleaning procedures — are all dynamically incorporated into the planning process.
Optrak recognises that every industry comes with its own specific complexities and requirements, each of which needs to be addressed and provided for within the model in order for any optimised solution to have real world application.
Each industry has its own unique style of products that need to be loaded using specific containers and following specific patterns to facilitate access and vehicle balance. Products even within single industries may have their own individual requirements for equipment to load them on or off the vehicle. Optrak checks whether a vehicle can actually be loaded — and unloaded in the right order — as part of building the route, not as a separate step afterwards. Weight, volume, compartments, and delivery sequence are tested while the plan is made, so the routes it gives you physically work.
- Bulk Multi-Compartment Distribution Optrak plans bulk multi-compartment distribution for petroleum, fuels, and chemicals — compartmented tankers with product-pair cleaning and pump sequencing, ADR and terminal-training constraints, 3PL livery rules, and multi-day order selection that mixes urgent and forward orders in a single-day plan.
- e-HGV Transition How Optrak helps fleet operators plan the switch to electric HGVs and CGVs — sorting real rounds by EV suitability with physics-based consumption and in-route charging, sizing depot and en-route charging, and running mixed diesel, EV, and alternative fuel fleets through the transition.
- Lubricants Distribution Optrak plans lubricants distribution — compartmented tankers carrying many grades with cleaning costed by product family, and hybrid trucks whose floor space carries pumped IBCs alongside drums and palletised packaged goods — proven in a nationwide operation at Fuchs Lubricants (UK).
- Multi-Temperature Distribution Optrak plans multi-temperature distribution for convenience stores, food service, and supermarkets — moveable-bulkhead trailers, mixed cages and pallets, loading checked inside the route optimiser, and trailer swaps modelled as first-class resource moves.
How the Loading Works
- Integrated loading — why the load has to be checked while the route is built, not after
- 2D and 3D loading — the loaders themselves, from weight-and-volume to floor plans and full placement
