Multi-compartment

A vehicle whose load space is divided into separate compartments — bulk-tanker pots for different liquids, or temperature-controlled sections — each carrying a distinct product.

Also: Multi-compartment vehicle, Compartmented

A multi-compartment vehicle has its load space divided into separate sections, each carrying a distinct product. In bulk tankers — petroleum, chemicals, lubricants, food-grade liquids — the compartments (sometimes called pots) hold different grades, with cross-product contamination managed by cleaning and pump-sequencing rules. In temperature-controlled distribution, compartments separated by moveable bulkheads hold frozen, chilled, and ambient goods. Either way the single-capacity assumption of the CVRP breaks down, so Optrak models compartments explicitly inside load optimisation.
